I have a compaq (evon1020v). I have installed xp pro on it. It is not the original operating system. What I am trying to do is restore it to the factory settings. I have the quick restore disk that came with the computer. Can anyone tell me how to get it to restore to the factory settings. I have already tried booting the computer from the disk.

I'm not sure if they are using the same restore method they used to. What you used to get was a whole whack of CDs that had the OS and supplemental programs on it, and you would boot off the OS disk and it would ask for any supplemental disks as part of the installation
