Recycle Bin Broken?

Hello all.

I think there is something going a little screwy with my recycle bin. First, I'll give you the basic setup.

  • XP is on my main (C: ) HDD.
  • My documents is not on C:, instead, a partition from my other HDD is mapped there.
  • The same HDD that contains the My Documents partition also has a partition mapped to Z:

The problem:
When I try to delete folders in the My Documents folder, I get an access denied error. However, I can delete any other type of file that I've tried. If I press Shift+Delete bypassing the bin, the files can be deleted (hence why I suspect the recycle bin).
I have tried clearing space on C: because it was pretty full, but to no avail.

Any thoughts?
 
Maybe because "My Documents" isn't on the C: drive, and the
drive that it's on doesn't have a Recycle Bin.?

Maybe put the documents in folders on the storage drive, then create
shortcuts to those folders, and put those shortcuts into "My Documents"
on your C: drive.
 
Well, I was looking for an easier way (even though that was easy too). I'm lazy, and the shortest path to success is the one I'll take. As you can see, I'm still browsing the web, to lazy to devote the time to simply create some shortcuts :P. I'll get on it tomorrow though.

All you need is one shortcut to each destination folder.

It's not that hard. I have a separate drive that I keep all
my data on and I just put shortcuts into My Music, My Pictures,
etc to each storage location. Took 2 minutes.
