reducing fan noise

My computers fans run fairly loud, even set to 50% speed. I was wondering if lowering the speed any more would be bad, or if setting the "smart fan" a certain way would help out (the thing that turns them on when you hit X degrees and turns them off when you drop below Y degrees). My system is in my signature. Is it possible that for the cooling system i have, and the components that i have set up, loud fans are necessary? any help would be much appreciated. thank :) !

Your system should have some smart fan settings on the motherboard. If they aren't enough, you'll just have to replace them with more quiet fans. Do you know what fans are the loudest? I've had some pretty noisy chipset fans, and many of those can be replaced with passive coolers.

I am pretty sure they are the fans that work with the liquid cooling system. They are not so loud that it is unbearable, so ill be ok with leaving things as is for a while. As far as the mobo smart fan settings, what temps should i set for the turn on and turn off? thanks.

Do you need fans if you are liquid cooling? I thought that was the whole point of having liquid cooling was to get rid of noisy fans completely?
