I have recovery disks that I tried running on a laptop running vista. for some reason disk 2 will not read on that laptop.

The disk reads fine on another laptop I have running windows 7.

I wanted to find out if the following will work.

Take out the hd and connect it to the working laptop using a usb-sata cable.
boot from that hd and run the recovery disks on working laptop.

also just a reminder working laptop is running windows 7 and other is Vista

You can't use recovery cd's that were made for one computer on a different computer unless the 2 computers are the same. And unless the 2 computers are the same, you can't install windows on a drive in one system and move the drive to a different system and expect it to work as the hardware is all different.
