reformat new hard drive?

hey, i got a 80g hard drive. i need to swap out my 6 g hard drive. how do i re install programs?

im kinda lost. i have windows me now. have win98 on disc. just swap drives and reboot with win98 disc?

any help appreciated, thanks

That's what I did when installing a new HD (windows 2k). Just make sure you back up any files and programs that are not on the disc. Unless your going te reinstall the old HD and extract files or use as a slave. Mine went pretty smooth for my first time. Getting the comp to recognize my modem and what not was a bit of a hassle but I got it. I reformatted my old HD and now have 100gb of memory up from 20 (80gb master 20gb slave). Good luck!
