Reformat.

I was thinking reformating my pc and start fresh.

Couple questions though :

Since everything will be lost if there anywhere I can save everything?

How will it work, how is my computer and that sorta stuff gonna be there and all?

Is there a very good guide that anyone has that can help me with this?
 
does it have a cd that came with it or are you using a retail cd. also the only way to back it up is to burn dvd's. if i want to reformat but dont want to deal with all the things to come. i accedently do somethign to it so i have to start fresh.
 
You could use GParted and create a partition on your HDD to store all of your DATA.. when you reinstall windows, provided you do it on the partition opposite to your saved DATA, it won't effect your DATA :)
 
well. no. if it is a retail version. yes if it is a vender pervided (like hp gives it to you) no. you dont have a choise of where to put the os
 
I have the windows xp cd and the key to validate it.

hm I was thinking of burning dvds with the things I wanna keep. Like my pics and documents.
