Reformating HDD

O K this is pissing me off I cant install anything because my installshield isnt working properly and I want to delete everything off my HDD and put windows XP home addition which I have on my HDD again and start over fresh but im not sure how to do it so can someone tell me how to reformat it and put windows xp on again so i can start over

depends if your windows xp disk full or upgrade.

If it full it easy just boot from windows xp disk. When it gets to the point that it asks you what partition to use choose to delete all partions. Then create a new partition. Then install on new parition. This will force windows xp to do a full format before it installs windows xp fresh.

If you have a upgrade it a little more triky because it does not give you the option to format from what I remember. If you format manually you wont be able to use the upgrade because it require windows to use.
