Hi. I refromat my laptop for like 5 times now. I need to know if it will effect my programs. and I install most of the program and it runs fine. Can anyone tell me what is reformating computers? I mean I know how to do because I done it serveral times. But I need to know does it affect my laptop. Reasons of reformating is **** viruses.

If you have the disks the programs came on, you can reinstall them many many times, but sometimes microsoft products don't like to be activated multiple times. And you shouldn't reformat too often (don't think this is something you like doing so doubt this is an issue) because it creates more stress on the hard drive and will begin to shorten its life.

On my personal machine, I reformat about 2 to 3 times a year. It should be fine, I like to clear up the junk on there too. I install a bunch of demos to test things out. But if you're planning to not add junk onto your computer, it should be fine without a format. I'd also invest in a virus checker too.

yea. I have a firewall and a virus protection on my laptop. So I should have to worried about that.

So 2 to 3 times once a year. or what you mean.

I'd say, reformat if you think it needs to be. Just like how you mentioned before, when it was slowing down on you, you reformated. Same thing with me, if i've got the time and it's bothering me, I'd just do a reformat. Just make sure you back up your stuff. I've got dual HD's on my setup just for that. You can also set up a partition or just back up to CD/DVD/thumbdrive.

Does the dual HD's back up everything on your computer? Let me know thanks. If so where can you get that software?
