Reformating software

Hey I need to reformat a couple pcs.. I need some software so I can permanently delete files... is there any freeware software that can do this or trial software? thx

Depending on the data on the computer it may not be important to do so. But you want secure data eraser then use Darik's Boot and Nuke to wipe the drives.

"Darik's Boot and Nuke" is a program that does a good job wiping out a hard drive.

the free version will only do one pass though,if Darik's Boot and Nuke is freeware then your probably best going with that

I'm gonna assume that you have a working computer of your own. if this is the case then there is one of 2 things:

1. You bought a pre built system with OS installed already and you got backup disks etc

2. You built your own rig and installed the OS your self

In either case you have OS disks (recovery disks are just fine).

Pop them in your drive, boot up from cd/dvd and there is always the option of format on them, just use that, formatting is the same no matter how its done
