Reformatting problem

Hi
I have an Acer laptop running vista, last night I attempted to reformat the harddrive using the recovery disks. About halfway through the process it just shuts off. And now when I start it up the Acer screen comes on for 2sec. and then it goes to a blank screen with a blinking space at the top. And it wont let me open the Reformat option menu by using Alt+F10.

Any Suggestions

Try booting via BIOS to the Recovery DVD and start the process again. It may have been a fluke. If it happens again, I would look into a third-party partitioning tool such as GParted.
