Reformatting Slave Hard Drive

Hey,

My 80g HD is nearly full, so i want to put in a slave from a friend old PC. So how can i reformat it without installing widows on it?.

BTW I has a partialy installed version of Windows on it that doesn't work properly.

Please Help.
 
Just install it as a slave drive. Since you've already got an install on that one, it means there's already a partition set up on it, so Windows will see it off the bat. Boot up Windows, go to My Computer- you'll see your second drive there. Right click it and hit format. Done.
 
I have tried again and i managed to get to mycomputer and start the format, but i then said it was unable to compleate the format.
