Refurbished Computer with no Windows

Hi, please be nice as this is my first ever post. I have just purchased a refurbished Dell computer from a company and they have told me the following:

""As part of our contracts with our clients all information needs to be removed.
This is for data protection and identity security.
When performing the data removal tasks the OS is removed at this time to ensure all data is eradicated.
The COA key is left on it, if it had one when it can in.
An OS can be reinstalled on these machines by yourselves if you have the software disk's to do so.""

I have a Windows XP Professional disk which I bought from PC World a few years ago, but is the above correct and how would i go about putting the OS back on. Also i havnt yet got the computer its in the post and would prefer to know what i am doing before i get it incase i need some other software/hardware.

if the license they give you is for xp pro, then you can put it back on with your disk. if it is a different license, you will need to get this disk for that particular license

Thanks, I have 2 questions is you dont mind answering them:

-I have just asked the company and the OS is for XP Home; i have a recovery cd from another dell model computer and another cd from a acer which both have xp home on it. Could i use that or would i have to buy one from PC World etc

-Is it simply a matter of putting the cd in on first boot to install windows (using the COA). If its too complex do you have a link to a website that could help as I have not installed my own OS before?

Thanks for any advice / help you can give.

- Yeah, if the CD from Acer is just an XP CD, then yes, it will work
- You put in the CD, install Windows, then install drivers and updates. Just google it, I'm sure you can figure it out.

Like said above if you have a XP home CD it should work if the key is legit on the case. If the XP pro cd you have is retail and not installed on another comupter you could use that one with its own key.
