registery error installing MS Office

Ok. If you are up for it, you could give Dial-a-fix a shot. It is a bit outdated, but you could give it a shot. Download it from here.

Once you install it and run it, click the double green arrow, then go. Reboot when it is done and re-run CCleaner's registry cleaner and fix all. You may have to re-run CCleaner several times for it to catch all. Just keep running it until you get no errors to fix.

Damn.......i missed this last post. I did try and still have the same issues. One thing though. I checked the error log and see something about:

'NT authority / system service service running in user account'
configure service to run either local service or network service account.

I checked the link at Microsoft help. im not finding how to do this.
Any ideas what they are talking about. I think this is my last out on this one.
I blew it off for a couple days and im wasting way to much time.

One question: the XP disc. (repair or recovery). could this have any impact
on the fix and not loosing everything on my installation?

thank you very much for your time.

Does that error come up precisely when you try the install?

It wouldn't hurt running an XP repair. That is a good idea, and it will not re-install or destroy your data...provided you do the repair. ;)

Also, since you have already tried CCleaner's registry cleaner (you did run it several times right?) you can also try this little tool. Run and fix. See if that helps.
