Reinstallation no internet

ok i reinstalled windows xp professional completely, and i installed service pack 2, but i got no interent, i dont know what i could have done wrong or if this pc is a different setting, because on my other pc the internet would just work.
could anyone give me a hand with what i need to do to get my internet working

You reinstalled Windows but didn't reinstalled any needed drivers for a dailup modem, dsl NIK card. or ??? that you are using to connect. While XP will detect and already have drivers ready for many makes and models of 56k dialup modems you would still need to use the "Internet Connection Wizard" to set up the account according to the information provided by the ISP(internet service provider). What type of service are you trying to connect with?

But agreed. You probably don't have the drivers setup for whatever type of internet you're using. Do you recall if you had to set anything up? Or did you simply connect your computer to say a modem or router using your networking card?

Not everything is onboard Lan. The host pc here used a nik for the dsl router. (oh my.. ) Windows by itself won't automatically connect and setup your email accounts either. Some effort by the user is needed there.

sorry ya now that i think about it.... it was a stupid question, my old computer must ahve autodetected the etherenet card, but ya i even had the legal disc for the drivers
