I reinstalled windows and all my old Profiles are saved in a folder. The thing is whenever I try to Access them it says Access Denied, and I need those files. Tried the admin account, no go. All the program files remained the same but they dont show up on the start menu. What can I do ?

DOS is a no go. I cant share them, I cant move them. I cant anything. But it was a good try.

Sounds like encrypted filesystem at work.

Well DOS and DOS Prompt might not work but console DOS will certainly work :) Of course you'll need W2K Console for that

Well, I did notice that only the Profiles that had passwords are the ones I cant go into. One of the profiles had no password and everything is there. I am in so much deep shit if I dont get those files back guys. Thanks for the help, keep it coming.

xp has a way of encrypting the files so that only the install of windows that they were encryptined on will read them and that what it sounds liek

Ok, I do remember something about xp encryption when I had 2 old Dells and a newer Micron, some files just couldnt be read but I dont know, it was really mixed up because only some files where affected. It was along time ago so I dont reall have a clue anymore. But thank you, I guess I wont be seeing my files anytime soon, so.....how do I delete them ?
