Reinstalling MS Outlook

A while back I decided to delete MS Outlook from my comp (through use of the "disk cleanup" option). Now my friends have set up a Pop3 account through our company's website (visit! www.totallymentalgames.com) and now I'd like to get Outlook back. I tried googling to find an install file, but when I opened it, I got an error message saying "A newer version already exists on this computer". I tried searching on my computer but I can find nothing that works except for a few sort of install-app-ish looking files which when clicked on do nothing.

Any suggestions?

Do you have Outlook Express or Outlook? Makes a huge difference. It sounds like you have OE. If that's the case, you're in for a lot of fun. That comes bundled with IE. That's the only way you can get it. I've been through this bloody nightmare before. You have to uninstall it and IE and then reinstall both, and that's not as easy as it sounds, trust me. You have to do some hacks to get rid of it because it's so tightly integrated with XP. If I recall correctly you can find the instructions on Microsoft's website somewhere in the KB, but I'm pooped and I don't feel like looking right now. Anyways, it's a pain in the ass.

I recommend downloading and installing Eudora instead. You can pick it up for free and it will do the same thing.

All you have to do is go to add and remove- windows components recheck outlook express hit ok, dont know if it ask for the windows cd when reinstalling?

The one thing I should have asked is if you have XP. That makes a huge difference. If you do, Stranglehold is right on the money.

You will also have to uninstall IE, which I told you in the first post I made. Again, if you have XP it's easy, but if not it's a pain in the ass.

Then from there you can download the IE package and reinstall both.

I should have asked first when you didn't put your OS down.

See, there is no clue in your post which OS you have. Even Windows Me had Disk Cleanup.

Very well. But when I try to uninstall IE (stands for Internet Explorer I'm assuming), it doesn't show up on the list of "Add Remove Programs." And when I try to install the IE6 service pack and whatnot it says "There is a newer version already on this computer."
