Reinstalling Windows 7

Hi,
I tried to reinstall windows xp home onto a new raptor and it said the key I entered was invalid (or something like that). So I rang microsoft and they said that there is no support for xp anymore so I had to pay to do a reinstallation. Yeah right. So I am going to upgrade to 7. My question is, if I buy the full retail version can I install it on my pc and then in the future install it on another pc (not at the same time)? I've only ever used OEM versions as they are cheaper and you can't do that with them.

Thanx for any help.

If you buy OEM, you will be able to move it, but it will cost you another phone call to Microsoft.

Thanx for the reply. But it doesn't really answer my question. I did what you said with my version of xp and microsoft said it was going to cost X$. Nobody seams to be able to tell me yes or no here or in brick & mortar shops. I'm getting frustrated. grrrrr

Apologies, I misread that.

Yes, you can move Retail versions to other computers at your will, as long as it's not installed on more than one pc at a time, as you stated.

I do not think win 7 is perfect now, some of utilities doesn't work fine there. xp still is better than win 7 in my experience
