My family computer is having major issues. I have a windows cd and im gonna reinstall it. I just have some questions:

1. Do I have to back up everything on the main hard drive, or will it still be there?

2. Do I have to delete windows first? Will it create a new partition or will it just reinstall files?

thnaks

There really isnt much point in me posting this... but anyways, you need to backup everything that you dont want lost. And all you need to do is boot from the XP CD, and it will overwrite the current files.

that is all up to you, those are options that you select during the installer.

i highly recommend a clean install
backup all your important data and documents that you have on your PRIMARY partition and then boot from the CD and format it before installing windows

Format it a few times to insure all data that was there is gone.
