first of formatting a hard drive does not install windows it gets the drive ready for what you want to use it for.
if you want to install windows you will need a windows cd and the reg key that comes with it you will need the floppy disk with the raid drivers on it and you will need to set first boot device to cd rom in bios so now you have your windows cd and floppy you have also set the boot sequence to cdrom turn your pc on and incert the windows cd after it has boot from the cd there will be a point that says press f6 if installing third party drivers so push f6 and insert floppy from this point it will ask if you want to formatt the hdd and install windows after it has formatted it will copy windows files to the drive then it will say your pc is going to restart after it restarts dont push anykey to boot from cd just leave it and follow any instruction it gives.
hope that helps

if you want to use raid you will need a floppy with the drivers on you should have a cd with the mobo drivers on if you have there might be a program on that cd to make a raid floppy if not you will have to go on the mobo website and get them from there

Blank password? I think you may have read something wrong?
You have probably never assigned an admin password. This is for a special account only accessible via safe mode, this isn't the password for your normal account. When it asks, Just hit enter and type "map" as the instructions state.
good luck

i have assigned an admin password but i would like to remove it. how can i so this?

Assuming you know the password (or another admin account password), log in as the admin and goto control panel->user accounts->pick your account->pick remove password. If you don't know the password then you're out of luck.

Well it depends on if your account is an admin account. You can have an admin account named however you want.

yeah i am the only one with an account. and im removed my user account password but when i boot fro CD to reinstall. it asks me for the admin password which i know as its the one that i set but it then says that its ivalid. can i remove the admin password from Bios?

Did you set a password for the Administrator account (can only be done by booting into safe mode on XP home)?

yeah thats what i done in bios. what do you mean can onlt be done by booting into safe mode? is that changing the password?

A BIOS password and windows password are different. If you can't remember the BIOS password just clear the CMOS.

its weirldy just started to work! and i just know its going top take ages to format. aw well. thanks for the help guys. but knowing me i'll probs post in a little while with a problem. thanks!!!

It now runs like a treat. re-installing is the way forward! if you've ever got to many problems. back up your hdd's and then re-install. its fantastic
