Help! I reinstalled my Windows XP recently and when i did that i discovered that some of my keyboard keys are messed up. For example, my @ sign was replaced by the " sign. The 2 key still works tho. The correct " key is now @. My # key is now the £ sign. And the # key is now at the backslash place. My backslash is missing. You get the idea. I tired remapping my keyboard through the regedit but am having problems. Anyone, please help!!!

go to contorl panel/ keyboard. Make sure you got the correct boar setup, correct drive, and the check the settings.

It would be perhaps worth checking the Regional and Language Options under control panel to check that it is correct for your country. Make sure all options are set to your country in sub-sections under there also.

Or if all fails try buying a new keyboard.

NO, dont buy a new keyboard.

I know what your problem is, when you installed XP it reverted everything abck to US settings, including the keyboard map.

To fix this simply go to control panel, click on Reigonal and Language Options. Click on the Languages tab at the top of the box. Then click on the button that says DETAILS. In the first drop down box select English (United Kingdom) "United Kingdom". If it isnt present in that box then click the ADD button below it and add the United Kingdom setup. Bobs your uncle, after a reboot your back to normal.
