Remember when DOOM was only on...

Yes I remember quite nicely. The first DOOM I believe was on a floppy disk. Yes, a floppy disk. I still have it for some reason. a 3 1/2 floppy that is. There was also for super nintendo. Ah, what a corny looking graphics filled game it was. The the Play station. Never had that one. And all those other ones out there. And now its back on the original system. The computer. But how did it got from the series versions (DOOM 1, 2, and 3) to just DOOM? And once I even saw "Final DOOM". that shocked me. Saw it for Play station. Lets take a look back and see how this game developed, shall we?

Yeah.. I love DOS games and have a whole PC for them.Probably cos it cant do anything else thats also another reason.

a little off topic...but ehh. i remember playing doom and it was awesome. but what i liked even better was when i played my first pc game...ZORK...lol but it was so cool. i was really little and it was my first experience with a computer. i remember looking up at the black screen with green letters and such. the computer seemed so smart to me. that game was fun

i know a lot of people are way older than me and will say that wasnt that old lol but to me it was. that was the first time i had seen a pc...damn those old floppies

lol, I remember when we got our first computer, I think I was in grade 2...I remember having a CD ROM!!! (OMG) You never saw things like that back then. My favorite games were descent, cyberia, and whiplash, and Myst. maaan, the memories. I still have all my old games, except for cyberia:( It was a rad game too:(

Haha, I had never heard of doom. not until years later when we rented it for the snes.

I'm sorry, but rad? Are you sure you're only 19??? :P

Your right, I do watch that show alot. Though, they don't really say rad much at all on that show. I think I got it from the 80's movies I watched as a kid that always had the "punk" 13 year old with the sunglasses and jean jacket. And Rad racer of course (W00T for NES)

Do you mean Syberia? if so then I remember that one. I did not think it where much more then a few years old though. I played it like 2 years ago and I've played Syberia 2. Both games are excellent.... Hmmmm, I fell like installing now :).

Oh yea... Rad? :P.

I was over at my uncles house, and I was talking about Doom 3, then he pulled out the original Doom, as ADE was talking about. He said, and look how you installed the game, and he pulled out a floppy disk, I chuckled. The system requirements are 4MB RAM, 600x400 res. (I think), and to think, that wasn't really too long ago.

When you turned on all the monster and stuff, that game got really hard!
And i remember Myst, that was about the coolest game ever.
Edit: I forgot, my first gaming experiences were with the original Red Alert and Half Life. Both great games, but then my cousins got Total Annihilation.

If you notice on DOOM 3 there is a lounge where you can play "Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3" that little face is the same one on DOOM for super Nintendo and the same graphics too.

Nope, this game was called Cyberia. It was made with a bunch of FMV movies, and depending on what you did it would show a different movie, they did a really good job on it. It made the graphics look unreal, especially in the days of doom.

I managed to find a pic. Kinda small though

Yeah my first PC game was Commander Keen4; Secret of the Oracle
It was as young as I could remember waking up at 6 in the morning just to play it.My dad even taught me how to make the PC boot into it those were the days. I had it on those 5 and a quarter drives.
