Remote Assistance not working

I was trying to connect to a friend through remote assistance via my desktop, but for some reason it didn't work after letting the ports through and etc. So, I decided to use my laptop instead since it's much newer.

I recently reformatted my laptop and got rid of all the Dell crap that came pre-installed. When I went to remote assistance. This came up:

I searched by google and couldn't find anything. When I go to "Help and Support" everything works fine, but going through remote assistance doesn't work.

Any ideas? Maybe I didn't type in the right keywords because I can't find anything that'll fix this.

Do either of you have a router? I know you said the ports are free, but sometimes routers will block remote assistance and the router settings need to be changed to allow it. Maybe you already did that, but I still thought I would mention it.
