remote desktop: all set up, but not working

I'm trying to remote connect over a home network from windows 7 to windows vista. I've set everything up as per normal, but it doesn't connect.

It will recognise when i get the password wrong, but when i get the password right it just does a fraction of a second of thinking and then acts as if nothing happened.

I can successfully connect from the Vista-PC to the windows 7 PC, but i need to connect in the other direction.

I am using administrator accounts on both computers.

Any advice?

Depending on what version of Windows you have you may not be able to RDP into it. I'm pretty sure home versions don't support incoming RDP connections.
