I'm getting a netbook soon and now I want to turn my desktop into a remote server for it. I plan to use remote desktop so I have access to a linux OS without having to dual boot my netbook. Also I want to have one of the HDs on my desktop mounted to my netbook.
My desktop will be running Ubuntu and my netbook will be running vista. I originally intended to use RealVNC for remote desktop, but I ran into so many problems setting up the server side on my 64 bit Ubuntu OS. Does anyone know of another good free cross-platform remote desktop program?
I imagine the easiest way to mount one of the drives on my desktop to my netbook would be to setup the desktop as a FTP server. Anyone else disagree?
