Remote Desktop control

Hello, I am new to this forum. I have recently gotten a new Vista Home Premium 64 bit Laptop and I would like to set it up so that i can have remote control of my Vista home premium 32 bit desktop where ever I go. Is there a way to do this without buying any third party programs? If so, how do I go about setting it up? Thank you for your time!

If you wanted to do it remotely (not from the same network) I would suggest a static IP as a starter.

Vista Home Premium, does not support RDP as a server .. you can only connect to other computers .. but not host connection.

you need Vista Vista Ultimate for the rdp server.

Your best bet would be logmein.com its a free service. Dont use vnc .. its awful.

you also dont need a static ip, or fowarding ports for logmein.com
