Remote Desktop with my Galaxy phone

Ok so i got the Galaxy S Vibrant and i got the program " Remote Desktop" and im trying to connect my cellphone to my computer via the internet. (so when im not home i can connect)
I have had success doin remote desktop through wifi but now i want to connect over the internet which means i have to go through my router.....

I went to whatismyip.com and typed that in as my address.
Than i went to "home" which is my router config for Sasktel" i figured out my
remote access http: 80
Remote Access SSL Port: 443

So i go to the program and type in XXX.XXX.XX.XXX:443
and instantly it says the server closed the conncetion and when i try
XXX.XXX.XX.XXX:80 is just loads forever......

Any idea what i am doing wrong?
any help is appreciated, thanks in advance

I would suggest VPN'ing into your network and then try to connect. If you do this you won't have to use the port number.Also Have you tried without using the port number?
And also try port 3389.
