remove start help

I un installed a lot of programs and it whent good.

But I still have a lot of Start Menu icones left.

Now I know they go no were but how do I get rid of them??

I know I can right click on them and click Delette but I think they all still stay in the system.

Was there another way like right click the start menu and open up a tree and pick start menu and things like this I remember I did????????

Are you talking about clicking on start, then programs, then startup?

Or what exactly are you talking about?

....i think he may be talking about having the shortcuts to the programs he just removed still appearing in the start menu....if that's the case you should just be able to right click over the icons and delete them....

although i could be completely off in terms of what the op is asking...he needs to be a little more clear/specific...

thanks but

Yes the Icons just on the Start Menu.
I know I can Right click on them and Delette them.

But don't they still remain in the Start Menu Backgrounbd in a way?

I thought there was a diferant way I did this ion win 98??

If you uninstall a program, the program should disappear from the program menu. However, a lot of times the uninstaller doesn't thoroughly remove the program and manual cleanup is required. So if the program is uninstalled, all you do is right click on the item and click on delete.
