Ok so I've fitted new hd's and ram to my emachines comp, now the psu has gone, got a replacement one but I can't remove the old one!

Ive taken the side panel off which I've done before obviously to fit hd and ram, but now I need to take the whole other side off, it just wont budge, I pull it out to a certain point and it just wont come out.

Ive tried taking the front off but that too just wont come off, gets to a certain point then is stuck.

Went to the emachines website and they said theres 4 tabs which you press to make the front cover come off, i have done this and its still stuck there!

If anyone can help that would be grand.

Cheers.

I've tried, everything is just stuck and I dont wanna snap anything.

The front is almost stuck where the cd drives are etc.

eMachines owner here to the rescue :P

Open the side panel and look down bottom. You'll find a little rubber black thingy that looks a lot like a pencil eraser that's inside a plastic catch. You gotta get that rubber thing out with a pair of needlenose pliers or tweezers. Then you can use a screwdriver to pry the bottom of the front panel away from the case. GO SLOW! Otherwise you'll yank your power switch and LED wires off the switch on the front panel and then you'll really be in deep $hit! Draw pictures to show precisely where each wire goes onto the motherboard.

My bigger question is why you're having trouble getting the old power supply out. Mine came out by undoing the four screws on the rear of the case, because it was a standard ATX PSU. I laid my case on its side, took off the side panel, undid the cables, undid the four screws, and very damn CAREFULLY tilted the PSU and lifted it up so you don't smash the CPU. A five-minute job.
