Removing SLI to OC - PSU strain

First off, I wasn't too sure where to put this exactly, so I'm throwing it here.

So a while back I was stable (for a good while!) @ 3.4Ghz and had both GPU's. Then I started to get BSOD's. So I put my CPU back at stock and left it.

I've kind of gone off gaming and now do a lot of video editing and post production work, so I'm thinking I might remove one of my GPU's, that'd hopefully give me enough headroom to OC the CPU again.

Think it'd work?

Ah, I can't remember. It was ages back. Like I said, I don't game on my computer anymore anyway, so I'm thinking of selling one of the GPUs. Also, hoping that'd give me enough juice to OC my CPU again.

OMG its danny, how are you dude!

Ever since you posted on here about getting another GTS for SLI i wondered if your Psu would be enough,But now that you have tried it with just the one in then it must be that your PSU cant handle it.

If your not into gaming anymore dan then wouldn't even the single GTS be overkill?

If i were you id sell both the GTS together as it will probably gain even more interest that way for someone that wants to try out SLI....and just buy a cheap non gaming card like a HD5450.

I'm good thanks, Shane. How are you, man?

Yeah, I guess it was too much in the end, eh. Ah well. It's not great loss, in fact, it's actually worked out better as I edit more than I game.

I don't think so, Adobe CS5 utilizes the GPU, so I think I'll stick with it and just sell my other one.
