Removing the battterie from mother bourd

I removed the battery from the mother bourd now when I turn the PC on I get the Dell logo and that's as far as it goes it is a Dell XPS T700r with windows 2000 pro. installed

Yes I put it back in but now when i turn the PC on all I get is the Dell logo and it wont go any further
