Removing thermal grease with isopropyl alcohol

I've read that 99% isopropyl alcohol is an ideal cleaning solution for thermal grease, but I've yet to find anything above 91% in drug stores. I'm assuming that there won't be much of a difference, conisdering that rubbing alcohol at 70% is supposed to be suffice. Just asking for some opinions before I go ahead and replace the heatsink/fan on my video card.

Well I don't know about the whole cleaning thing. But I have heard that 99 percent alcohol will just evaporate once out of its container to about 90 percent or so.

Yes 99% evaporates very quickly which is why it is ideal, there is almost no wait time for the component to dry. I use 70% and it works fine.

LOL, I grabbed an Oxy pad once and cleaned one of my old pentiums with it. It has some alcohol in it and the textured pad really worked well. Probably not the best solution, but heck, it cleaned it pretty well!

I've used everything from 70%-99%, they all work. i'd personally go with 99% though. try using a q-tip, i also prefer those over a towel or something.
