Removing WLM?

I have recently had alot of trouble with Windows Live Mail.
It wasn't working so I tried reinstalling it but the "change/remove" button in "add/remove programs" didn't work... nothing came up. So I thought I'd delete all the program files and then download the installer again.

However after deleting the program files and registry entries it still doesn't work. It's not fully gone and when I run the installer it says mail is already installed so I can't install it again.

How can I fully get rid of it so that I can install it again?

Thanks :)

Still nothing... I've run a search and deleted every single folder relating to WLM and whatever was in the registry that I could find. Still doesn't install because it thinks it is still there?!

Have you tried checking C->users->youruser->appdata and deleteing anything you find there? Another thing you could try is ccleaner see if it finds any loose registry entries.

Yeah I have done both those things :( Still not happening...

Kesava, have you tried using an alternative program, you know, the ones that uninstalls completely ? I know some of them can detect hidden files and folders, even registry in some cases

I have tried however to use Revo Uninstaller for example, the program needs to be installed so it shows in the list to be uninstalled. However because I already deleted all the files pertaining to WLM, it no longer shows in the list and therefore I can't get Revo Uninstaller to uninstall it. Revo is usually great because it finds all the registry entries and leftover files...

As I said in the original post, I can't do that because it already thinks that WLM is installed so I am unable to reinstall it.

I messed around with the registry heaps and deleted a whole lot of stuff relating to WLM. Which is probably almost as stupid as just going and deleting system32. However it worked and the installer no longer recognizes it as being installed.

So I'm re-installing it now... Finally :)

Still doesn't work. Didn't install the WLM program properly... I give up. Don't see what I can do until I reformat.
