Hi, I will just start by saying I'm really angry right now because my computer that's worked great since I bought it, is falling into a piece of shit.
Heres the problem, my computer randomly starts freezing, for instance, if I am listening to music, it will freeze and play some random bite for about 5-10 seconds, and the mouse cursor won't move, then it unfreezes for a few, then starts again, eventually leading to the system to crash. I know I have been abusive to my computer (downloading lots of crap) and I need to fix this. Another thing that happens, is when I try to restart after the crash, 1/2 the time, it gives me "Disk read error, press ctrl alt del to restart" And continues to do so until I turn the PC off for about 20 minutes and come back. When I shut down normally, I still always get the disk check blue screen, which I usually skip. Sometimes, when the PC crashes, I get a blue BIOS like screen which states there was a problem and the pc had to return and something about dumping physical memory, it was a long message and rarely occurs, maybe about 3 times this month.
Norton has expired, so my virus protection is probobly gone, maybe I have a virus or something, but I have other free tools I can use. Also, reformatting is out of the question UNLESS someone can assure me that my itunes won't be deleted. The real question is about that; If I reformat my computer, and have my songs on my ipod, will they dissapear after being updated with a blank ipod program on the pc? If not, I will reformat.
heres my system which I bought about a year and one month ago to date;
Amd 3200+
1 gb corsair value ram
120gb seagate HD
450w generic PSU, came with case
MSI K8 motherboard, I forgot the exact name, but I know it has K8 and platinum in it.
6600gt MSI
that's about it, sorry for the long read, I just really want my computer to get back to normal, it's really causing me problems.
