If the bios won't recognize it anymore, it's pretty much a lost cause. You MIGHT be able to replace the I/O board on it, but most of them have ribbons soldered to the motor and are very difficult to replace. Plus you'd have to find an identical drive to do this with.
There's also the possiblility of platter swapping, also requiring an identical drive. However, if any dust, fingerprints...anything gets onto the platters, the data's pretty much lost.
