Replacement cpu fan

Hi all,

My CPU fan is making a slight clicking sound...its not very loud but still noticeable.

My question is can i just replace the fan on top of the heatsink?
Its one of those fans that you screw down onto the heatsink.

Yeah, you can replace just the fan, providing its the same size as the one you already have... Here's one I found: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=49106&doy=5m2

It doesn't shift much air though and you'd probably want one with a 3 pin motherboard connector

Looks a tad bit small....

Thats a chipset cooler.

Do you know what size the fan is? Normally 40mm I think?

Mines like this....i think its 80 x 80 x 25mm

The fan looks exactly the same size as that shown on pic.

Im probably better just unplugginh the fan and taking it with me dont you think?
So i can get the exact size.
