Replacement Ink Cartridges for Chip-Based printers (like MP600)

Hi,

My question is about COMPATIBLE Replacement INK CARTRIDGES. I have a Canon MP600. The cost of a full set of replacement ink is about $80 CDN at the minimum. These cartridges come with a chip.

I am wondering if anyone had any success using COMPATIBLE ink cartridges (BY REPLACING THE CHIP thingy). Some say the ink quality would really decline; others say the printer would get messed up.

If someone (from personal experience or knowledge) can recommend going the "compatible" way for these CHIP-BASED cartridges, I would really appreciate it (and if you know any decent online store that sells them in Canada or USA).

So please throw some light upon Compatible cartridges VS Refilling VS Original cartridges.

Thanks people :D

Compatible cartridges are the same thing, just not monopolized by the printer mfg.

Refilling with newer chip cartridges is not as bad as it used to be with the old Canon "cotton cartridges", the fabric instead of the chip. It used to mess up printers, I don't think it does now, whoever told you it might mess them up, needs to look at newer stuff.

Original cartridges are a "monopolized rip-off". I take my cartridges to Office Depot and have them refilled, the only other way is ordering through Dell. Lexmark cartridges are somewhat compatible with some Dell printers, I heard Lexmark makes Dell's printer line-up, with the Dell badge. You can always find something that is compatible, if you look around a bit.

Thanks so much bro.

Now, I think I will look around for some compatible cartridges or go the refilling route (eg: Cartridge World).

Cheers :)
