I have a computer I use a lot for audio and am planning to replace the c disc (containing apps and windows xp), as it is filling up. I am wondering if I will need to reinstall windows and / or intel software. I'm not sure if I have the old installation discs, or even if I do microsoft and / or Intel might want more money from me. Given that I plan to upgrade my entire rig not way too far in the future I definitely don't want to repurchase xp.
Can I somehow copy the contents of my c disc as it is currently, save it, and then transfer it to the new c disc? I do have a few bays (?) free, and a usb backup storage disc.
Yr help greatly appreciated. If you notice any misunderstandings of reality in this post, please enlighten. thxxx
