Replacing Stock Heatsink

I could possibly advise the Zalman CNS9500 used on the same model AMD cpu. So far I haven't had the board snap or seen any other damage due to it being installed. For a look at the same model without the blue led ilght go to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118003 $16 less for this one.

the Zalman9500 is pretty heavy ( i replaced my Freezer64 with it when i got the 4800+ ). it coold slightly better then the freezer, but also costs a lot more. also, i bout the 9500 because and X2 produces more heat then a single core one.
i used the Freezer64 to overclock my 3000+ 'Venice' to 2,7GHz. wat a Idle temp of 46*C witch the Vcore to 1.65V... so it was really good.
but yes.. the zalman is really good,.. ( its Big and Heavy tough ) but the Freezer 64 (Pro) is the better bang for the buck tough

I originally had looked over both makes and models when deciding on something other then stock. The original price was over $70US for the Zalman when it first came out. That was with or without the blue led fan. The heat tubes certainly looked good on the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro. There was another Zalman model that was tried here prior for a smaller price that included the led fan. The Thermaltake Big Typhoon is a superb cooler, but as the name implies, 'big'. It also requires the motherboard to be removed in order to facilitate installation, although the newer Big Typhoon VX does not.
Its cooling performance is a little better than either the Zalman or the Freezer Pro, but any of these are superb.

That zalman is a royal pain. I would suggest a helper if you get it.
Gee you had that much of a problem? The CNS9500 went right in here with no problems at all.
You just can't be in a big hurry and get it wronggg....
