Reset Samsung Note 3 when display is smashed

Long story short - brother's Note 3 display is dead and is not showing anything (can't send back to manufacturer for replacement because it broke whilst we were trying to replace it ourselves) - the phone is now on eBay as spares/repairs but just wondering if the phone can be reset to its factory defaults by using Samsung Kies or anything like that without having to do anything on the phone itself?

If not I guess changing his passwords for the apps on there that he used (Facebook, Google Account, Samsung Account, Twitter etc etc) will be OK?

Got 5 days to sort it out before the auction ends! :eek:

Kies detects the phone but we can't do anything because of the keyboard lock... and obviously the display is broken so we can't unlock the phone. Just told my brother to change the passwords for the apps he uses and I guess the buyer won't be able to get into the phone because they don't know his unlock code, so they'll have to factory reset it somehow. :)
