reseting OS key

Hi, i was recently told to call microsoft in order to reset my OS key. How would I go about doing that? Thanks!!
 
Please provide more information. What/who told you that your key had to be reset?
 
Well, ere's the story: I was TRYING to sell my comp, forgot to add that OS was not genuine :(

I told how i didnt want to pay more money for a new OS when I aleady had a genuine one. So some guy asked me why I didnt just call microsoft and have my key reset(Since I already used it 3 times)
