do i need a program such as partition magic when changing the sizes of an already partitioned harddrive?
if not it would be greatly appreciated if someone could give me some brief step by step instructions so as not to stuff something up.
cheers, kain.
Yes, get Gparted Live Disc. It's very easy and runs in itself so you don't need to install it. Just put it on a CD or Floppy. It's a really small file also.any free ones that you know of?
cheers, kain.
When you get the chance, get GParted Live Disc from above in the previous post. Depending on if you get the floppy versoin or CD version, just burn/copy it to it's media. Next, just restart your PC normally with the disc/floppy in the drive and make sure to set your bios to boot from it.thanks all.
dave i'm not adding a partition i am trying to change the size because i have filled up C: and i don't want to have half my stuff on C: and half on D: getting another harddrive isn't an option because i don't believe laptops can accommodate two.
cheers, kain.
Since you have done it before, I assume you know how to resize it when you get here.
