with my system, i cant put my resolution above 1280 x 1024.
not in windows, neither in games. if i do so, my monitor simply goes on standby. my monitor supports 2048 x 1536, so does my fx card.
and with my old pc and this monitor, i have played games on that resolution.

does anyone know what i should do now?

Sorry, I couldn't send you the program through email so I'll post it

To use the program follow these steps :D
- Run the VB (Visual Basic) Program - the white box with the green bar across the top
- Change the Resolution (left side row of drop-down box)
- Try and keep the number of bits the same(middle row of drop-down box)
- You should also try to keep the number of Hz the same (60Hz is best)
- Click "Change"
- Click "Yes"
<Once The Screen Resolution Changes>
- Click "No" (or "Yes" But ONLY if the resolution isn't right)

have you checked that the refreash rate is not too high? There is not much that I can think of besides wrong refresh rate in this situation unless your screen is going bad. Are you using the latest driver? perhaps go back to a previous driver and try that if you are.

nope,. :( but, at the advanced properties screen, it says default monitor and geforce fx 5200, so it doesnt seem to regocnize the model.
i tried to find a driver for this monitor, but no luck so far.

Sorry, I meant Video driver of your graphics card of course.

Edit:

Im not asking your PC, im asking you. what is the make and model of your monitor...

Of course here Praetor is asking you to use your eyes to visualy look at your monitor for the make and model number :). Should be written on the back (most have it right on the front of the monitor).
