Resolution too high in vista BETA 2

Hi everyone, not been around for a while! heres my problem:
I downloaded and installed windows vista beta 2 the other day, dual booted: fine, most drivers:fine stability:fine, then i opened the media centre application, maximised it and then it mus have changed the resolution to something above 1280x1024, so my tft couldn't support it, and came up with a fancy error flashing around teh screen, i pressed reset as i couldn't see to restart, booted into vista, and it all appeared fine, it was working at 1280x1024 with no problem for a couple of seconds, then it switched to a really high resolution again, i have tried restarting in safe mode and stopping everything from starting but it just keeps on happening, this is really annoying as i never got to try out much software, and i don't want to reinstall it again, could anyone enlighten me into what has gone wrong here, it's really peeing me off!

Thank!!! Lee :)

First start off make sure all your drivers are updated, especially your video card (try getting Vista Beta 2 Drivers). Then go to your display settings and make sure your monitor is running above 70Hz (I've had a problem like yours on Vista running lower than 70Hz.)

thanks for the help, but i can't do that, i don't have time to go into control panel when it starts up to change the settings, and in safe mode it is disabled, but as I said it happened when i first started up media centre, so i am wondering if that did something, i am trying it now with all the media centre services disabled, and no items on startup, hopefully i will get somewhere with it like that!

That seems to be quite a problem, I would suggest re-installing Vista...at least that way you know it will fix the problem. I'm considering to install XP again because of random security errors/unsupported programs, and MAINLY the lack of Bluetooth support for Vista provided by Logitech.

mmm, i suppose reinstalling vista would be my best option here, but will it activate again, as i have already done so once with it, or will have have to get a new serial for it from MS?

It will activate again, no problems at all.
