restarting pc

hey all. I found an old p3 computer in my girlfriend's basement. it didn't have a hard drive in it so i put in an 80 gig and a 128mb stick of ram, making the total 256. i installed xp on the system and it was running great. surprisingly fast actually. i first installed pc cleaner to get a look at the video card (rage 128 pro ultra) then i installed firefox. this is where i get the problem. when using firefox the pc will completely restart. i'm using the pc now, but with ie and its working fine. a suggested cause? note: the stick of ram is questionable. i put it in some elses computer and it made it run horribly, but maybe it was just hardware compatiblity issues. its working fine here. so, yeah, no clue on my end.

Try reinstalling firefox. If that don't help then you need to disable system restart on error. Do that by going into the advanced settings in system properties, click on settings under startup and recovery, uncheck automatically restart under system failure. The next time it errors you will see a blue screen with a code on it. We need the error code and any other information it provides.

well, dang. i uninstalled it, but i went under advanced settings and auto restart is already unchecked. i haven't reinstalled firefox to see if it'll work though. i just put ei8 on it
