Restarting Problem

Okay, i've upgraded my mobo, cpu and ram.

Core 2 Quad Q6600

OCZ 800MHz DDR2 RAM

Gigabyte Nforce 650i mobo

+

8800 GTS

1 HDD

1 ODD

3 Case fans.

It wasn't a bundle but they a compatable.

After the build i freshly installed Vista i installed all the updates and drivers but while gaming or even watching a DVD it just restarts.

Firstly i thought it was the power supply and as i had a poor quality PSU i brought a new one, 550w Antec Trio but it didn't solve the problem.

Thought it might have been Vista so i formatted and went back to XP.

I disabled automatic restart when windows get an error think a blue screen would give me some info - But it just restarts as usual.

Overheating isn't the problem as i'm well ventilated and i've ran profilers, everest and AIDA while gaming and the temps were fine.

I've tried a different graphics card in their and ran a memory test which was succesful.

I installed all the drivers that came with the motherboard and the ones from Nvidia website.

I've uped the voltage for my RAM because default was 1.8 and sometimes that isn't enough.

I've restored the BIOS back to defaults and now i'm running out of options.

Can anyone help?

Cheers.

If you just updated your system with a faster cpu and more ram and it restarts when you go to play a game or watch a movie than it sounds like you need a power supply with more watts. 550 watts doesnt seem like enough for what you have.

i dont no what the cause is but i do no that the psu is powerfull enough. have you put the 6pin power conector on the vid card, are you running two vid cards in sli?
