Restore Desktop after spyware ? :/

hello.. i know i was infected with a virus or spyware few days ago..
the internet became VEEERYY slow.. and programmes couldnt even load..
i scanned with LOOTTZZ of apps.. antivirusesand spyware removers..
and now the perfomance of the pc is fine .. the only thing left behind is my desktop..how can i remove it ?

Run a repair install from your windows xp disk, this will not make you lose your data!

Looks like ActiveDesktop is turned on with some software's message on it - try switching it off and then you can change the desktop appearance... Hope this helps!
