I have 2 HPa320n desktop computers that I can't do the restore on. I have been on the chat help line with HP many times and so far I'm nowhere. This all started when I tried to make my own set of disks with their built-in program and when that failed, I wound up buying the disks from HP. When the first set gave me errors and was unable to successfully finish the restore, they sent me another set and they didn't work either.
They first tried to say that the hard drive may be bad but when I told them I was able to install my own version of XP on that same hard drive and that I even tried another hard drive, they bumped me to a higher tech, and they finally left me with their solution that either the mother board or BIOS were bad. It's hard for me to accept that this since I am able to install my own version of XP without a problem. They were going to let me go to one of their repair stations, for a free diagnosis of the board, but then they said they could not do that because the computer was too old. Their tech help was courteous and patient but in the end I still have the problem. Of course, as I said, I can install my own version of XP and make the computer useable but since it came with all those programs I would like to be able to do the restore and that is why I won't try the restore on my other computer.
