Restoring Vista

i have a HDD that is corupted and i want to know how to restore it to its factory defaults while i have it in my other computer that is working, i am currently scanning it for viruses and just want to know how to retore it without reinstalling windows completely. Any advice would be awesome!
 
i think i know what ur getting at.. just go to disk managemetn..(can search it if on vista or win7, or right lcick on my computer and clcik manage)
and click on it and format it to w.e. u like..
 
or if its not ur primary hard drive with os on it(i dont think cuz u said ud rather not install windows) u can just delete the entire partition on it and create a new one
