restricting unwanted sites

hello
please anyone suggest me how to restrict unwanted sites from opening in IE. if there is any freeware or any other program which doesnot allow anysite to open please let me know. or some settings changes in IE are also welcome.
i need this for my uncles boy.
 
You can do this in IE:

Go to Tools > Internet Options > Content tab

Enable the 'Content Advisor'

You will have to make a password.

Then go to settings > Approved sites tab

Now you can type in a website then choose whether it can or can't be viewed


If you want better security, then I'd advise you get a good firewall app.
 
thank u the IE option is nice. i have the sp2 firewall in windows. isn't that enough?

sorry, i meant somekind of 'net nanny' program. I only said firewall cause I know that Norton Internet Security has built in site blocking proceedures.
 
everything with the IE content advisor is nice except that it is asking a password for all the sites i open. is there any option which asks a password only when someone tries to open a restricted site. any programs or such will be helpful
