Retrieving Data and Files

Right heres the situation, had a normal desktop PC with windows xp, which i used during my first year at Uni, anyway one day the pc just stopped working, every time i turned it on, after initially trying to boot up it just re-starts and this keeps happening. I tried putting in different hard-drives and even bought a brand new one and the problem still happened, after 10 or 15 seconds of booting it up it would automatically re start. So its not a hard-drive problem, must be somthing else within the computer. Going to give it to some1 to try and fix, but the original hard-drive is fried, had cousins round yesterday and they spilt juice and all sorts on to the HD after i left if lying in my room and its done now.

My question is, is there any other way that i could retrieve me work and files from the computer, does the computer store the memory elsewhere or is the hard drive the only place?

Be grateful for any help.

download a program called "spinwrite" burn it on to CD and away you go. I havent actually used it *yet* but i have heard great things from it.

"If anything can save it, spinwrite can" as they say

Ive read up on it just there and it seems that it retrieves data and files from hard drives, but the hard drive that my files are on is fried, it doesnt work the chips have been broke and juice and all sorts poured over them.

Is there anywhere else a pc stores files and data apart from a hard drive?

Your yummy oj just screwed you over..can't get it back unless you get really good pro's to take apart the hard drive and get it from the disk if its not screwed up also.
